District 201Q2


Welcome to District 201Q2 in North Queensland and Papua New Guinea. We currently have 65 Lions Clubs, 12 Lioness Clubs and 4 Leo Clubs working with the community thought our large District.


This beautiful area covers the sugar fields of the Mackay region in the south, up north to Cooktown and Weipa and stretching out west to the Gulf and Mount Isa. The large industrial and administrative centre of Townsville and the major tourist centres of Cairns, the Atherton Tablelands, Airlie Beach, Whitsunday Islands and The Great Barrier Reef. 


Our District also include Papua New Guinea which boasts four Lions Clubs, in Tabubil, Port Moresby, Wabag and a branch club in Lae which also has a Lioness Club, all making up this very large and diversified District.

District Governors Objectives

To be a Lion is a privilege not a right let's Serve and be proud to wear the L on our lapel. I hope by the end of your year you can say we made a difference. Remember 'Team Work Makes the Difference'. Let us have the best year ever.


My goals for the year are as follows:


1. To reinvigorate clubs and have Fun while achieving our goals.


 2. Promote Lioness & Leo Clubs and reinforce the sense of belonging within the Lions family.


 3. To activate our MERL Team and be more interactive with the Zones and Clubs.


 4. Retain, Strengthen and Grow Membership.


 5. Lions everywhere reaching out spreading the message 'We Serve'.


6. Reinforcing that Lions International is International and we are a family and need to support the world wide organizational goals as well as our District and Clubs.
